Defend the Faith in Everyone You Meet
The Perfection of the Flame Within
Part 1
Hail, sons of freedom! I, Michael, Prince of the Archangels, salute you this morning with the shield of faith.
Won’t you please be seated.
I have been called the Defender of the Faith. Now, I ask you, what is faith but the substance, indeed, of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen as yet1—eternal substance of the presence of light? That which composes matter (which is but densified energy), that which you behold with your eyes, that which you hear with your ears, the vibratory action of sound—all of the physical actions which your five senses cognize* to your consciousness—these in no way are truly representative of the magnificence and the glory of heaven.
Ladies and gentlemen, arise and defend the faith that is within yourselves. [Audience stands.]
Your faith must be in the realms of invisibility, for those things which you see here have not yet expressed the perfection of God. And therefore I ask you this day, in defending the faith, that you recognize that you are defending that which you do not yet physically perceive. If you will pause to contemplate the meaning of my declaration, you will realize that the greatest part of you is the intangible, the spiritual, the divine and that the lesser part of you is the mortal appearance and manifestation.
I choose this day, while you are standing, to make** you a specific appointment. I would like to appoint everyone in this room a guardian of the flame of life within the hearts of mankind. Now, you say to me, “By what authority do you do this?” I do this by the authority of the mighty I AM Presence in the Great Central Sun. And I do it with the fullness of the cosmic law in divine manifestation, subject to your own acceptance because you have free will. Now then, if you will accept this charge, the charge of an archangel, I urge you to defend the faith of God in the hearts and lives of everyone you meet.
As you walk the busy streets of this planet, I am certain that you have often gazed into the faces of individuals and perhaps have said to yourselves, “Can this be the handiwork of God?” And yet, that physical appearance, with its distorted expression of imperfection, is certainly not the handiwork of God but the handiwork of misqualified energy, which has cast a veil of substance over the immortal flame of life within. And therefore, that individual is not outpicturing the perfection of God but is outpicturing the imperfections of mortality in the vestments of carnality. All of this can be transmuted by the flame of life, the eternal substance of that which is hoped for within the heart, within the lifestream and within the energy within the Within—the power of the Sun behind the sun.
I, Michael, by the power of the sword of blue flame, declare to you this day that I am the Defender of the Faith of every man and every woman and every child upon this planet. And I appoint you today, whoever will accept it, as my emissaries.
You, even you, because you are a son of the Most High God if you will accept it, are able to represent me to mankind. And I ask you what you think the results will be.
I tell you, ladies and gentlemen, a very wonderful experience will come to you as you begin to gaze upon those imperfect appearance forms of mankind, as you begin to vest them with the specific divine quality with which the Father has already invested them and yourselves and all life. For when you invest them with their own God-qualities, you will perceive them in their proper place. And you will be performing a work of God and defending the faith within yourselves.
Mankind today, when they gaze upon one another, frequently do so with a critical eye, and this attitude is partly correct and partly incorrect. The criticism of men could be the critique of perfection, but it is not. For men have chosen rather to look upon one another and to perceive error and then to cast blame upon the individual expressing the error.
This is not the perfection of life. For the perfect and the beautiful and the good are ever the examples of those who behold the perfection of the flame within the lifestream. And the flame is within the lifestream; and because the flame of life is there, that individual is vested with divine authority. The alchemical experiences of eternity are given to him, and one day he will no longer wear garments and robes of imperfection but he will walk in the full manifestation of his own divine identity.
Why not, then, vest him ahead of time? For time itself is but a flowing stream. And inasmuch as one day he will come to the place where he will manifest the fullness of that which God intends, then why not vest him with it now and hasten him down this flowing stream of time to shorten the days of his travail and to give the earth her freedom ahead of time, in the holy name of Saint Germain?
Beloved ones, freedom is long overdue for this planet. In our octaves of immortal perfection, we enjoy the fullness of the cosmic light and the inner communion with the blazing glory of God. Now, the blazing glory of God is an eternal reality. And the reality which is, is that which you are. And this unreality, which you seem to be, is not and is unmanifest on the screen of pure truth. Therefore, ladies and gentlemen, why accept the unrealities of life when the blazing glory of God is cast forward daily and hourly and is projected upon the immortal screen of universal truth?
The Goddess of Truth, beloved Pallas Athena, stands beside me as I am speaking to you, and she pours forth her radiation into this nation, in the holy name of freedom. She pours her radiation through the divine matrix of both this dove, which is in the air, symbolizing peace, and that of the eagle below, symbolizing power.
Therefore I, Michael, Prince of the Archangels, declare: O America, America, America, I am come this day to restore the faith of men in the universal concepts of the Founding Fathers of this great nation, that men’s hearts may swell with pride as they see the integrity of God manifest in this great ascended master nation.
I am come this morning to invoke the presence of the seven mighty chohans with me. And as you gaze upon these pictures (the messenger points to the pictures upon the altar), you will perceive here beloved Morya, the chohan of the first ray. And here you will perceive beloved Saint Germain, the chohan of the seventh ray. I ask you, ladies and gentlemen, because the portraits of the other five masters (chohans) are not manifesting here, do you think that their presences are not? I tell you, the presences of those chohans are here this day, and they join me in radiating the supreme faith in God which made this nation great among the family of nations and that faith which will continue to guide this nation because the hearts of her people become receptive chalices of immortal truth.
Injustice, infamy and all discordant manifestations can never produce for this great nation the immortal plans of eternity. Nor can they make of America the great cosmic example which will cause all nations to desire to emulate this country and to be a part of the great I AM Race, the race of the free, who are pulsating with the glories of the first root race, which ascended and went Home.
O beloved ones, I ask you to realize that that which descended shall also ascend, for it was at one time in the ascended and pure divine cosmic state. I call now, then, to the immortal flame of life within the hearts of each one of you; and I command it, in the name of Almighty God, to leap into expression in memory of that day when it knew its own cosmic freedom!
O flames of light within the hearts of all mankind, feel the pulsations of the lord of the first ray, beloved El Morya. Feel the pulsations of mighty Hercules, the Elohim. Feel the transcendent radiation of Hercules as it pours through me now to declare that the right is the might! The right is the might of man and God!
And therefore, in the name of justice and truth, I proclaim that the destiny of this land shall come about because mankind have chosen to magnify justice and truth and purity and integrity and every God-quality which was within the hearts of those who framed the Constitution of this nation under the inspiration of this beloved master, Saint Germain.
I call to your attention, ladies and gentlemen, that defending the faith means something more than merely attending a meeting or offering adoration to God. Defending the faith is an action, that which comes about when the challenges of life face you.
Now won’t you please be seated.
As the challenges of life face you and the tests of life present themselves to you in an endless stream of opportunities which become either occasions for the creation of wonderful good karma or opportunities which are aborted and neglected, you must recognize that you are the determining factor at the gate of your consciousness.
Now, in this appearance world—charged as it is with clouds of human effluvia pouring throughout the atmosphere of the earth and spewing out the poisonous fumes of wrong human thought—I do not deny that individuals feel themselves almost overpowered by negative energy. I do not deny that these things do occur to the mankind of earth.
But I do, in the name of God, deny their power to stop the victory of every child of the light who will call to me with full faith and say: “Beloved Archangel Michael, I have pledged my faith to God, to my own mighty I AM Presence, to maintain my own freedom and stand my God-guard. And I have determined to do this for all whom I contact. I call to you now, I call to you now and to your light I bow, and I ask you to take dominion in my world and blaze your sword of blue to keep and make my heart true, that I will ever do the will of God, the will of God, the will of God.”
Thus you will be empowered with the power of Hercules’ might. You will be empowered with the lord of the first ray’s delight. You will be empowered with the glory of God, the immortal manifestation of cosmic victory!
