As you know, this is my thirty-third-year celebration of being on the staff of The Summit Lighthouse and I am so glad that I have been a part of this organization. In these years, as I have taken a magnifying glass to myself daily, I have observed that I have allowed myself to become irritated, to become annoyed, to become disturbed. And as I have analyzed this and as I saw it for what it was many, many years ago, I saw that before we voice discord of any kind, each and every one of us, including myself, has a split second to make the decision not to engage the discord or to vent our anger with all of the hell and fury of our untransmuted self. In that split-second decision, we decide to make positive good karma and send positive good waves to the universe or to make negative karma and rue the day that we ever allowed ourselves to say an unkind word about anyone or anything.
So in this regard I would like to point out that there is a dearth of understanding about how much karma you really do make when you allow yourself to vent your anger because some issue is more important than harmony, more important than anything else.
I had the strict training of El Morya and beloved Lanello. And if I should stray from the path of harmony or peace in my training, my setback would be very great in terms of my timetable and the Brotherhood’s timetable. I saw quickly just how much it would cost the Brotherhood if I would be off guard and not maintain my harmony. And I saw quickly that it was not worth it. It was not worth it at all. My peace was much more important than an argument or defending myself or protesting this or that discipline.
I don’t think that any of you are any less of a chela than I am. I say that with all of my heart’s conviction. I think that anyone in this room who has a fervor for the light and the Path can achieve mightily and you can make your ascension. Saint Germain has said it, that you can make it in this life, so you don’t have to take my word for it.
But we excuse ourselves for small things and perhaps, or perhaps not, for big things. The more subtle ones, of course, seem more easily excusable. So I want you to know that when you allow yourself to vent anger or any of the other Martian A’s,1 you should count it a travesty against your own chelaship and the path of your ascension to allow yourself to become so inharmonious.
When we hear the fiats from the great ascended masters and the archangels and we hear the God-control of Mark Prophet when he speaks in his lectures and his dictations— when we see and hear these things, we need to realize that if there is evil in the earth, if there is error, we can give forth a powerful fiat that is not out of harmony, not out of alignment and not fanatical either. We can release the power with absolutely no human discord involved.
Now, you may think that you have no human discord involved, but you may. This discrimination is something you will have to learn. You will have to call to the Holy Spirit for the discernment of spirits so you can discern what is acting in your world.
People who want to be right often champion their rightness but they are not in a right vibration, though they will insist that they are in a right vibration. If you cannot convince them otherwise, it is best to walk away from such people and let them learn their lessons from their mighty I AM Presence.
It is sad to me that in many situations people will only accept a final analysis or a final conclusion of a matter of dispute from me. They will not accept it from their fellow staff members, fellow chelas, fellow Keepers of the Flame on the Path, because they somehow look down upon other chelas as being like themselves and therefore not worthy of giving them guidance.
We have to remember what Morya says: “If the messenger be an ant, heed him.” I’m always listening to ants. Are you? I listen to ants and every other creature that crawls or flies. And I take my lessons from the fallen ones who taunt me and criticize me, because then I can say, “Well, is what they’re saying really true? Am I really like that? Am I really this terrible person?” And I will go through their criticisms and analyze them and see if I can learn something from the devil and from the fallen ones as well as I can learn from the ascended masters.
Why do we think that God sends fallen angels across our path? Because we have some lessons to learn. Perhaps we’re too naive, too gullible. Perhaps we will respond with greed when we are tempted with the things of this world—the money, the power, and so forth.
So every situation and every encounter is a lesson. Listen to the lesson, even if it says, “I’m wasting my time talking to people who talk about nothing. And I’m going to get out of this situation and keep my counsel with God and conserve my energy for my own calling, my own profession,” whatever your profession is. Chart the lessons of the day so that when they come around again, you will remember that you have received those lessons and this time you can pass them with flying colors.
So don’t think that an outburst of anger or any other major discord cannot cause you the loss of anywhere from six months to six or ten years on your path. And what makes the difference? The difference is how many times you have done this over thousands of years back to Atlantis and Lemuria. And when does the day come when the sword of Damocles finally descends? It descends and the karma descends and the Great Law says, “You have had this dispensation, you have had this forgiveness for all these thousands of years. On this day and this date, the Law says that the mercy is no longer given to you. You must now pay the debt for all that you have done in the past.”
In other words, we will never know—I will not know it and you will not know it—when the day comes that we have gone once too far, when we have done our discord once too many times and the Law says, “Your time is up. You have had all these thousands of years to correct this now. We have no more dispensation for you. No master will sponsor you until you conquer this.”
It was El Morya, Kuan Yin, Mother Mary, Kuthumi who came to us and said, “Deal with the issues of your psychology or you will not make another step of spiritual progress on the Path.” I will also tell you that if you are determined to be an adept, and you should be determined to be an adept in this life, you must have the diet of the Eastern adepts. If you are going to eat meat a great deal, sugar and those sorts of things, as many times as you resolve to do better, you will not do better because of the aggressive vibrations of the extreme yang of meats and the extreme yin of sugars, drugs, alcohol, and so forth. If you indulge in these things, you will not be in control of yourself. Of course they are not the only cause of an untempered anger, but they are part of the cause.
I found that when I changed my diet, I had much more God-control and God-mastery of myself, my words, my life.2 And I praise God for that and I praise Saint Germain for it. I realize, as I see myself today and think of myself thirty or forty years ago or in past embodiments, that I didn’t have that same refinement—the refinement of the gentleness of the Elohim of Peace and the equilibrium and the equanimity not to be moved by anything or anyone, most notably my own karma or my own human creation. So please take this to heart.
I have been preaching the macrobiotic diet for a long time and I certainly would not force anyone to follow it. But if you are scientists with great zeal and alchemists in the tradition of Paracelsus, I suggest you experiment within your own temple to see how much more you can be at the level of God-mastery by having the mastery over what you eat.
As I have mentioned, Saint Germain was one of the masters who attended the Philadelphia meeting. We all know about Saint Germain, and he is the one to whom I called who gave me the diet and sent me a cook to prepare that diet.
I praise God that the Maha Chohan was sent and chose to be a part of the founding board of ascended masters, because, as we know, this is a movement of the Holy Spirit. This is the movement of divine love. The dispensations of this century include the I AM activity, the Bridge to Freedom and The Summit Lighthouse. The Summit Lighthouse is considered to be the dispensation of divine love. Through the I AM movement came power. Much instruction came not only through the Bridge to Freedom but also through Theosophy, some of it through Alice Bailey. So we’ve had great enlightenment since 1875 when these dispensations started.
We know today that we cannot go any further, we cannot expand the thousand-petaled lotus of this community without each one of us seeking, finding and realizing the Holy Spirit. I pray that you will study the teachings of the Maha Chohan and the Holy Spirit. The wonders and the great works of the Holy Spirit, the nine gifts, are intended to flower and to blossom in this Church. So ask yourself what within you is keeping you from chelaship under the Maha Chohan and the bonding of your heart to his heart.
Another founding master was our beloved El Morya, who has laid down so much of his momentum, his life, his energy for the continuance of The Summit Lighthouse. In recent years El Morya has been careful about not giving dispensations to chelas who have not proven themselves stable enough to receive a dispensation and to carry it through. How many of you would be ashamed to say that you have made many requests of all kinds at the altar in letters to the Karmic Board and sometimes, as the months and years go by, you have forgotten or not reviewed what you asked for and therefore do not even have a continuity of giving your prayers for that particular dispensation?
So El Morya is at a stage where he has taken up so much karma of the earth and his chelas that he says, “Pay as you go.” That’s why the wise chelas will always attend the Tuesday morning and evening sessions. If you pay as you go and give El Morya your decrees, he looks at your bank account when you ask for a favor and he says, “Um-hum, this chela has so many hours of decrees every Tuesday in his bank account, and so I can use those reserves to assist him in accomplishing what he would accomplish.”
The Lord of the World, Gautama Buddha, gave us his blessing for the founding of The Summit Lighthouse, which shows you, as I have said before, that this is an organization where all of the roots of the seven major world’s religions play a part. We have been giving the rituals of Gautama Buddha and his mantras and hearing his dictations since the founding of The Summit Lighthouse.
So let us see what part of us is already a part of these masters and what part of them is already a part of us. Let us see with which ones, if not all of them, we can say, “I have an affinity.” And when we say the word affinity, we mean “a fine tie.” “I have a fine tie with Archangel Michael.”
Maybe you haven’t done as much work as you thought you had for the Elohim of Peace. Consider, too, Saint Germain, the Maha Chohan, El Morya, Gautama Buddha, Godfre and Lanello.
With this backing, we can still fail if we have so many projects going on in our lives that they deprive us from being at the altar. Eliminate what you don’t need in your life, the cares, the burdens, and make it your goal to achieve your ascension so that many can follow in your footsteps. That is why El Morya founded The Summit Lighthouse.
Following this address, the messenger gave an invocation to each of the masters who founded The Summit Lighthouse. She called for the bonding of hearts to the heart of each master and invited the audience to sing songs, give their prayers, and call for the bonding of their own hearts to the hearts of the founding masters.3
“The Summit Lighthouse Sheds Its Radiance o’er All the World to Manifest as Pearls of Wisdom.”
Elizabeth Clare Prophet delivered this address on Sunday, August 7, 1994, at the Royal Teton Ranch for the celebration of the thirty-sixth anniversary of the founding of The Summit Lighthouse.
1. Martian A’s—aggression, anger, arrogance, argumentation, accusation, agitation, apathy, atheism, annihilation, aggravation, annoyance, and aggressive mental suggestion.
2. Diet. The ascended masters encourage maintaining health and well being through natural methods, including a disciplined diet, exercise, fresh air, a positive spiritual and mental attitude and wise health care in every area of living. However, this is not a substitute for medication and the proper medical and psychological care by a professional.
3. If you would like to hear this address and participate in giving the songs and prayers that follow, you can order it as an MP3 or download from www.AscendedMasterLibrary.org.
