Project Contact
Out of the Mother flame we come—out of the flame wherein we hold the reins of life for millions of souls upon Terra. We are the sons and daughters of God who have renounced the path of the ascension and entered in to the bodhisattva calling, the bodhisattva ideal.
And God has answered our call and allowed us to sustain his cosmic consciousness at the level of the etheric plane, coming and going at will in the octaves of Mater and the highest reaches of those octaves, where there is an overlapping of the kingdom of heaven and of earth itself. We are in that plane where the ascended masters appear to their chelas and in that plane where, from the highest summit of the mountains of earth, we too may bask in the ascended master consciousness, which we have made our own, and yet not all. For ours is the sacrifice to atone for the sins of earth, to be as electrodes of the sacred fire, to balance life, and to keep the flame of the Ancient of Days so that the balance of light is retained in earth during this Dark Cycle of the Kali Yuga.
We speak out of the Mother flame, for the Mother flame is our contact with our disciples throughout the earth. And we count among our disciples many unnumbered, those who count themselves not a part of our circle of light and yet, by vibration and inner self-discipline and the love of light, they are indeed a part of the keeping of the flame of life on earth.
The Intensification of the Ability to Contact Each Soul of Light
We come to address you, in the garb of our various disciplines, through the dispensation of the Lords of Karma delivered by Mighty Victory one year ago.1 We come with our offering to the Mother and her children, for we are devotees of the Mother light. Our offering concerns Project Contact.2 And we bring the momentum of our service to light and our meditation upon life to the altar of the Mother and her children. We bring our offering of our momentum of the keeping of the flame of life to you, Keepers of the Flame, and to other disciples who have the ability to sustain this momentum of our light.
Our offering, released from the Lords of Karma, is for Project Contact. In order for you to understand our offering, may we explain that we have retained our presence in Mater to be even closer to those souls who require our assistance and yet whose density does not allow them to feel the vibrations of the ascended hosts of light—those who require the sustainment of the heartbeat and the ever-present nearness of our extended aura, which we do extend in a forcefield that arcs from the Himalayas to the Andes.
Our offering, then, is the intensification of your ability to contact each soul of light, each child of God upon earth. Our offering will enable you to do that which was formerly difficult or impossible. It is this: to reach those souls caught already in the momentums of anti-desire,* as Morya has taught the concept, individuals who have already lost their free will. And whereas formerly you have said to yourself, “I find no opening within this soul, I will move on,” now you will find that bythe ray of light extended from our hearts to your own, there will be intensity increased, as a pencil beam of light from your heart to the very soul of that individual. And that ray of light will penetrate the astral darkness into which that soul has descended even while yet living in the physical temple.
And you will find that when you speak, if you are directing your attention to the heart flame and to the third eye of that one, you will directly contact the soul. And this ray of light from the unascended masters will be a lifeline. It will penetrate. It will activate. And it will enable the soul to listen to you when you go forth two by two to enter into the homes and into the areas of life where unknown souls are requiring that contact.
Blessed ones, there are millions of souls upon earth in this very hour who, without the contact of members of the Great White Brotherhood or their chelas, will not be able, by their own strength or light, to come out of the astral darkness that they have entered through the abuse of their bodies, minds and souls in all manner of perverted practices, of which you are well aware.
To Be a Greater Instrument
in the Service of the Ascended Masters
We are a part of the Great White Brotherhood—you and we, the unascended masters. And therefore through the stepping down of the consciousness of the ascended hosts of light, we desire to perform a more than ordinary service and to place our service upon the altar of God and the sons and daughters of God who have preceded us in the ritual of the ascension.
We are pressing nearer to you as you press nearer to our disciplines. For our disciplines are for the mastery of the etheric, mental, emotional and physical bodies, the mastery of God-harmony and of the flow of energy in the chakras.
They are the practice of hatha yoga and those disciplines of prayer and fasting which enable you to contain more light within this octave and therefore to be a greater instrument in the service of your Lord and Master Jesus Christ, Gautama Buddha and our beloved friends the ascended masters.
Blessed ones, we come with the great hope in our heart of the Archeia Hope and of Gabriel that each one of you might see yourselves in the role of the annunciation—announcing to souls you formerly would not have approached the law of life, of being, the goal of life, the reality of reincarnation, the memory of previous and future existence, the lifeline to our octave.
Blessed ones, the only misgiving we have about this Project Contact is that perhaps you will fail to realize that through it you have so much more power to draw souls from the darkness and perhaps you will fall into your old momentums of thinking that people will not listen to you, or you will be easily turned aside at the first objection to your statement. Remember that when people react against the Law, it often precedes the pendulum swing of an absolute acceptance of that law.
Therefore, persevere. For now you have the ability to make direct contact with the soul and to say to each one, through that blessed All-Seeing Eye of God, “Be thou made whole!” and to know that atoms and molecules and cells of life will coalesce to fulfill the command by the momentum of our devotion, by the cosmic law itself, and even before the soul has had the full awareness, in a fully wakened consciousness, of what this new life is all about.
Setting the Movement
of the Upward Spiral of Consciousness
You see, the Great Law allows that by the will of the Christ Self of each one, energies may move in motion and set the movement of the spiral, the upward spiral of consciousness, that itself will be the impetus for the soul to respond and to say: “I will! I will rise to the dominion of my Christ Self! I will rise to contact God! I will rise to be free! I will rise to know the Law! I will rise to know the law of my very own self in God.
“I will take the hand of my deliverer. I will trust in this messenger of light! I will walk through the open door. I will pass through the portal of love. I will take the steps of my initiation. I will retrace my footsteps in the sands of life. I will sow the violet flame where I have sown discord and unrest, and I will transmute every jot and tittle of [the misuse of] the Law.”
Beloved ones, souls will rise if you apprise them of the truth, if you will offer proof that we are real and that standing just behind you in the etheric plane are the unascended masters—Yogananda by name and so many who serve with Babaji and Mataji and Ramakrishna3 and many whom you adore who have assumed other names than those by which you knew them before.
We Share One Common Brotherhood of Light
Blessed hearts, we number in the thousands, and yet so many of you realize the contour of our profile and know not our disguise. We come in many garbs, East and West. And if you knew who we really are, often you would run to greet us in the way. Or perhaps you would not, because in some moment of the forever or a day you have had an experience, an outer experience, that has been a rejection of our example because in that hour it was not your way.
But today our way is one way. Our path is one path. And you yourselves have risen from that darkness of separation and mortification into which the fallen ones have attempted to place you over the centuries.
And therefore in this hour we trust that however you may observe us—whether in the garb or the skin of East or West, North or South, whatever race—you will know by the light of the eye and the heart and the soul that we are one, that we are whole, that we share one common brotherhood of light, and that we are serving at inner levels under the authority of the Great White Brotherhood. And our oneness will secure the path of light in all of the world’s religions where these paths have been perverted or have been taken by individuals who have pronounced themselves our representatives. And yet they have strayed from the path of love and from the movement of the Spirit into a codification of law and a doctrinaire attitude toward life, stifling the love of the soul and putting out the first spark of hope of those who would return to the One.
See, then, that you walk step by step your pathway to the Sun. And know that we are present to help you, hand in hand, to bring these souls into the light.
I stand for Project Contact, and I ask you to stand for Project Contact as you give your life to the cause.

Blessed ones, we feel the ennoblement of your souls as sphere by sphere and ring by ring the contact increases.
With gratitude in our hearts, we transfer a multitude of blessings to all who have made possible the increase in the circulation of our teaching by the spoken and the printed Word. We are grateful. And wherever possible we place these books and tapes within the hands of those who are yet following in the narrow circle of our own camps, which have been, in many cases, taken over by those who have set themselves up as our representatives; and yet they will not liberate the devotees to come into the higher law of the ascended masters’ teachings and the ascension, which is the dispensation of Saint Germain in this century.
After all, beloved ones, many of us were incarnated when we had to operate under the old occult dispensation and when the mastery of the Matter plane was the only key we were allowed to release. And therefore we set the example for the mastery of that plane and we remain the example.
We stand at the crossroads of life where those who have pursued this path may make the transition into the high road of the path of the ascension in the light. Blessed ones, the crossroads is the nexus of the figure eight, where Matter becomes Spirit and Spirit becomes Matter. If you will meditate upon this great flow of the figure eight, you too, then, will be instrumental in the great exchange of the ascended master and unascended master consciousness of earth and her evolutions, and thereby you will provide the pathway out for many souls who cannot understand the merging of these paths of righteousness fulfilled, as Above, so below.
I am in the Spirit of the Mother flame in the LORD’s day. And this is the LORD’s day of the merging of the light consciousness of the ages! So let it be.
I draw close to the heart of the Mother all devotees of the masters of the Himalayas and the Andes. Let there be the melting of all separation and confinement of individuals by the impostors of the Holy Spirit. They shall not pass!
And those who have engaged in the mind-bending and mind-shattering practices attributed to us (and yet never engaged in for one moment by us) must know that by this increase of light, their light, their opportunity, is correspondingly diminished as, by the presence of light, their judgment also is come.
Let the children of the light go free! Let the disciples of the Brotherhood be one! This is our decree.

“The Summit Lighthouse Sheds Its Radiance o’er All the World to Manifest as Pearls of Wisdom.”
This dictation by Out of the Mother Flame of the Unascended Masters of the Himalayas and the Andes was delivered by the Messenger of the Great White Brotherhood Elizabeth Clare Prophet on Wednesday, December 28, 1977, during the New Year’s Class, God Is Mother, held in Pasadena, California.
1. In a dictation given on December 31, 1976, Mighty Victory said: “There have assembled now in this hour... unascended souls of magnificent countenance who have stood with the evolutions of Terra.... Among them [are] your own beloved Yogananda and Babaji and Mataji.... They are accompanied by unnamed, unnumbered souls of the East who have remained in the hidden fastnesses of the Himalayas.... So you see, the path of the East has come to the West, and the way has been forged by Ramakrishna and Vivekananda and all those who have made the trek to deliver the word of the sacred teachings.... Now let the paths of the masters ascended and the masters unascended converge as the cross of light in the heart of the Mother. And let the teachings of both schools be combined in the great mysteries, for thereby those who have studied with the unascended masters will have the benefit of the Spirit corps of the ascended masters, and those who have been the students of the ascended masters will understand the mastery in the Matter plane of the unascended ones.” For the entire dictation, see Pearls of Wisdom, vol. 20, nos. 21, 22.
2. Project Contact was a 1977 initiative to contact souls and bring them the teachings of the ascended masters.
3. Paramahansa Yogananda (1893-1952) was born Mukunda Lal Ghosh in Gorakhpur, India. He became one of the first Indian spiritual teachers to live permanently in the West, where he founded the Self-Realization Fellowship, which now has centers across the world. He wrote Autobiography of a Yogi, one of the most well-known books on Indian spirituality. Babaji is part of the Great White Brotherhood in the lineage of the unascended brotherhood of the Himalayas. According to Yogananda, he has never disclosed his family origin, birthplace or birth date. Having chosen to forgo his ascension until all others are free, he remains in a body of flesh in a cave in the Himalayas; however, he is able to dematerialize his body at will and move from one part of the world to another. Mataji, as her devotees called her, was born Nirmala Sundari Devi (1896-1982) in East Bengal, now Bangladesh. Without a guru or scripture study, she attained realization and then received the name Anandamayi Ma. A group of devotees joined her and numerous ashrams were built in her name. Ramakrishna (1836-1886) was a nineteenth-century Hindu saint and mystic who is now an ascended master. He was born into a poor family in West Bengal and named Gadadhar Chattopadhyaya. For many years he practiced various faiths, which led him to affirm the validity of all religions as a way to approach God. Though he had little formal education, his wisdom and saintliness drew a large following. He laid the foundation for the Ramakrishna Order, a large monastic order founded after his death and led by Vivekananda, one of his primary disciples.
