O infinite hope, how beautiful are thy strands of descending love! How beautiful is the ladder of light, adorned with the flowers of striving and becoming! How beautiful is the flow of angelic grace unto the heart of the world!
And I speak now of the love of the heart of God for humanity and their present state or dilemma. I speak as though it were a matter of the tears of God falling for the errors of man. And as they descend—beautiful, radiant, fiery drops of light and life—they are seen as crystallized jewels of the rarest beauty, descending with the dawn of new hope unto all. I pause, then, this moment to pay homage to them.
[6-second pause]
Jewels of the sacred fire, crystallized teardrops of the love of heaven descending to the planet, to the heart of the Mother of the World, are a consummate realization (for those who will permit their consciousness to accept it) of the care of God, not only for the lilies and the sparrows but for men made in the divine image. A more beautiful image is not possible to conceive of.
A noble exposé of the fragrance of the Holy Spirit as the principle of cosmic adornment, consideration and care of God for his creation is perceived. And it must be perceived through a mirage and barrage of human concepts even involving the Godhead or the principle of evolution without God.
It is unthinkable that men and women, possessed with a true sense of the greatness of even the physical manifestation, let alone the spiritual, should conceive of the universe as having created itself. And yet, as God has ordained it, as Spirit has directed it, each man will become a joint heir with him, hence the creator of all things that were, of all things that are, and of all things that shall be.
And it is to the beautiful sense that we dedicate ourselves this day, to the sense of the consummate ability of the Holy Spirit to release its radiation and fragrance into the heart of man—the gold and the frankincense and the myrrh—which (in adorning the heart, covering it also with the aloes of the oil of peace) may bring to that heart a realization of the cosmic fortress in which there is the ivy of perennial green, the strength of the fruitfulness of God in his abundant release of life, drops of life unto men and women, so that they may perceive these and go and do likewise with the fruit of their life and of their identity.
For love is needed in the world as never before. It is a love that will comfort the lonely yet not involve itself in their acts of mistaken identity. For humanity today is experiencing a case of mistaken identity in the nature of God and in their own nature. They do not understand who they are or who God is, nor do they understand en mass the power of the I AM Presence.
Yet many are emerging, as though it were from a chrysalis, out of the generation of man into the universal regeneration of the Christ consciousness. It is as though the Holy Grail were enhanced and were aglow once again in the world order, the perception of universal love pouring forth and streaming forth, creating a mystical search for the love that is identifiable with each man.
I am Paul, and my love is also consecrated to the identification of God, the Spirit with each of you—the Spirit Most Holy, most fragrant, most loving and kind. And when I speak of the loving-kindness of God, I think also of the words “His mercy endureth forever.”11 The mercies of God have made it possible for a host of inequities and little slings of outrageous fortune2 and darkness to also carry many of you, from time to time, far afield of the goal intended for each of you. But I speak of the magnet, the mighty magnet of universal love, that by its radiance has drawn you still, like the Magi to the star, and has also magnetized your hearts with the power of right direction.
When you were momentarily in darkness, the greatest hope of your life was the glimmer that flashed forth of the light. And it is ever so. For light is identifiable with life and simultaneously with love. The triad of these three brings to man the power of the consuming fire of his nature that will remove the dross and leave the pure, refined gold to act as an ornament unto the beauties of the Spirit descending from above.
Light, when it descends in vision or in sleep, may bring to each individual a greater release of God-strength. For when the waking consciousness is momentarily set aside (either in sleep or in vision by distraction and its principle), man is able to perceive the lodestone of the greater light and the effulgent roses of the light that descend from on high from the heart of God.
Angelic cherub faces peeping through the streaming light speak also of another evolution—one spiritual, not one carnal. And there is hope in man that he may not only preserve his present life unto that point where he can transmute it into everlasting life, but he will also enjoy the precepts and principles of everlasting life in the here and now, where the fruit of the divine art may become manifest in the radiated release of his God Presence, invoked by him at his moment of need.
We think not only of each of you but also of those whom you can influence, those whom you can influence for the beauty of the eternal Presence. We think of the great release that comes about as a result of the union of heaven and earth, and we see that release as streaming forth not only over the margent of the world but in the hearts of all mankind embodied thereon.
For the world is a terrestrial globe of hope whose symmetry may be questioned by some. For there are banal influences in nature that manifest as a result of gross distortions in the God-concepts vouchsafed to every man originally but so traduced because mankind has accepted the ill-born fruits of the mass consciousness. We urge upon all, then, the acceptance of that lofty flow of cosmic thinking that will regenerate the individual world of self, hence the whole world also.
As there is a tie between the self and the universal Divine Presence, so God himself, through the electrode of your own being, will flash forth into the world the renewed lightning of cosmic intensity, the universal resurrection of God upon the planetary body, delivering man from all evil desires and creating in him a new realm of spiritual desires—the desire for the perfectionment of reality in his being and his soul.
The power of love suddenly is captured by the mind! And the chalice thereof, the fiery chalice, raises its heart in cosmic laughter: “I AM free, by divine desire, from all that binds! My heart, my mind, my soul are one with universal purpose! No more blinded by the miasma of the world, I stand awaiting thy release!”
O cosmic wind of Holy Spirit most brilliant, thy glow—like eastern sun, like lightning, like swift wind—comes out of the east into the being of man. And this I cherish. For in this I stand, not as a will-o’-the-wisp to be commanded by banal influences, by darkness and by the curse of darkness, but by the fruit of the light—fruit and flower and movement—garnering in man those precious gifts which God has given so wonderfully to all. Yet men have not received them, for they have seen naught behind the pall but darkness and confusion, chaos and stubbornness.
Now all will be released, as man will God and Christ confess and see at last that light will live to bring forth its bower of gifts, its power and shower of holiness, of wholeness. And man at last will stand in the place where the Lord lay to consecrate, this blessed day, the new experience of each who comes as the prodigal son3 returning to oneness.
And aloft, alight and bright with new hope, the star is lit. The taper in the heavens that stands as a candle to the universe is lit by the hand of God. Its light shall beam afar and all shall live beneath its rod. For its rod is the rod of comfort, of divinity, of the beautiful sense of consecration of worlds without end.
As we begin now the process of release of the outpicturing of your divine identity through your mighty I AM Presence, we urge upon you all the acceptance of those things that count and the forgetting of those things which hinder, that you may come always to that realization of your universal bliss, which is the comfort of divine love to all, the expansion of the fragrance that existed before the fall of man into dark densities and the abuse of heaven’s purposes. We urge upon you all the acceptance of this gift, so tender yet so fragile.
Be imbued with the Holy Spirit. Be consecrated. Be whitened. Be one with. Be divine. And be not the victim of the shafts of darkness in the world that seek to turn you aside from the divine tide, the flow of beauty and might and wisdom.
God is beauty. God is might. God is wisdom. All these three are to be found in this unity amidst diversity. Perceive it as the subtle shade of cosmic iridescence that illumines all, that is the vital wings’ glowing purpose, fires majestic, strength untold.
I thank you.
