Mercy: The Fire That Tries Every Man’s Works

“You Are Expected to Deliver the Fruits of Mercy”

Flowers of the heart of Mercy, children of the flame of love, I come as a mother of mercy to nourish in your hearts the wand of forgiveness that is a rod of sacred power. For by Mercy and the action of her grace, there is a merging of consciousness that can occur in no other way; for it is the absence of love and the absence of forgiveness that separates the holy innocents and those who are in other spheres, in other octaves, simply facets of a grand mosaic that is the being, the wholeness of life, of God, and of the one Source.

There is taking place in China today a revolution that comes from deep within the souls of a vast people who have felt the currents of the Cosmic Virgin and who always respond to the Mother ray; for they have the culture of her wisdom that has been instilled upon them on other spheres, in other periods of their evolution. Children of the ancient land of Chin, my children there are moving with the flame of freedom for a rebirth, and they, too, would break the bonds that separate their souls from God.

Everywhere the hearts of children yearn—yearn for the Mother’s touch, yearn for the love that is beyond and yet that is so near in the breeze, the gentle zephyr, and in the flowers and in the caress of starlight. When all of the world is in turmoil and is churning, when great fear comes upon the masses, then is the unguent of mercy most needed—the gentle drops that come as the dew in the morning upon the soul, upon the consciousness.

Draw close to my heart and be one in my flame, for I have known you of old and many of you have tarried in the Temple of Mercy both between embodiments and for a period in recent incarnations when the doors of the Temple of Mercy were open for the specific purpose that those who had made themselves a part of the fallen ones might come to be cleansed by the transfiguring action of the wine of forgiveness that is anchored in the flame upon the altar here.

We have seen how the absorption of mercy’s ray at subconscious levels has enhanced the ability of the soul to perceive wisdom. And do you know, some among mankind who have difficulty in learning and in mastering the subjects that are taught in the schools of higher learning have that impediment because they have failed to extend mercy to life. And without mercy, the hardness of men’s hearts cannot be dissolved. And did not Christ teach to forgive seventy times seven, to walk the pathway of forgiveness? Did he not illustrate the principle in his parable that if the lord should not forgive his servant [which in this case he did] and if the servant should not forgive those who serve him, then by cosmic law he himself should not be worthy of receiving the mercy of heaven?¹

In small ways and in great ways, mankind are tested. And the bigotry that remains in the consciousness of some is also a lack of forgiveness. Those who cannot forgive their fellowman because they do not think or worship as they do—these have the hardness of heart that encases the flame of love and also prevents the flow of wisdom. Understand, then, that a great palliative for ignorance, for stubbornness, for willful pride, for the condemnation of lightbearers is to merge with the action of forgiveness.

I come, then, on the eve of the celebration of the Lord’s supper. I come in commemoration of the life victorious lived by Jesus. I come to anoint you with mercy. For in forgiving one another, in forgiving yourself above all, you will find that you can enter in, in a more glorious manner, to the passion of our Lord. And you can follow him all the way to Golgotha, to the tomb, to the resurrection, one day to be with him in the glory of the ascension.

Who is worthy to receive the Christ? Only the Christ is worthy to receive him. But then the Christ is in you. What requires forgiveness is the evolving soul consciousness that has the freedom to choose right and wrong.

Forgiveness for what? For unreality, for tarrying in the mists of unreality and in the ways of rebellion and resistance to Truth. All of this requires forgiveness.

Can you not forgive yourself as Jesus forgave Mary Magdalene by casting out the seven sins, by casting out the demons that had inhabited the citadel of her consciousness?² Can you not forgive yourself by opening your heart to me that I might enter in with a greater influx of mercy to saturate your being? Will you not surrender just a little bit of that pride, a little bit of that rebellion, that haughtiness that would challenge even Almighty God himself? Do you wonder why he does not come down in person? I say, the karma for resistance to God is so great that he hides himself behind the mask of hierarchy that the consequence [to humanity] of ignoring the one true Life might not be the death of the soul.

Indeed his mercy is everlasting, but I say to those of you who have tampered with the laws of God: remember, to each soul is given an allotment, an opportunity for evolution in form—thousands of years of opportunity, many lifetimes. But be not deceived, there is an end to opportunity. And when the last opportunity for incarnation is outlived and outpictured, there comes the final judgment, and in that judgment the trial of the sacred fire. And in that hour the action of justice displaces the action of mercy. In that hour it is out of my hands.

For many of you I have pleaded before the Lords of Karma for the opportunity to embody, to be whole, to not have [dealt to you in the physical] the great karma of being maimed and blinded at birth that some of you have deserved. I have interceded with the flame of mercy on your behalf so that you could pursue in the freedom of a sound mind and body the light of the Law. Some who have been denied that mercy by the Lords of Karma are today in the institutions for the insane; for to them it was meted that they should experience the agony of the absence of the presence of the Christ mind, that they might know what it is to defile that mind, that they might return in a future life and appreciate the gift of reason, the gift to pursue the holy Word incarnate by the power of the Logos.

You do not realize how much has hung in the balance of your own life because mercy’s flame has been available to you. You have called and God has answered, and through my heart and my hands mercy has flowed. I say this that you might also have the wisdom to understand that when mercy has been accorded you for a time, you are expected to deliver the fruits of mercy, following the works of the LORD and the ways of wisdom.

The action of forgiveness is a setting aside of karma, a diminishing of karma for a time, to give you the opportunity to find God, to find the Holy Spirit, to espouse the Christ as the Saviour. But when you have found the fullness of the Christ in the center of the flame, then the mercy of the Law considers it the full circle of that mercy to deliver to you that karma which was set aside, the weight of that sin which must now be balanced. And so, the more you know of the Law, the more responsibility is given to you for service, for extending blessings to your fellowman.

I come, then, with a note of warning to fix within your consciousness the boundaries, not only of the habitation of the LORD but of the limits, the very confines of the Law, whereby there is given to you a time and a time and times and a half a time³ to fulfill the cycles of individual destiny. And when that time is no more, then you face the test of eternity.

Can that which you have espoused as consciousness, as creativity, as the pursuit of knowledge stand the test of eternity? Will God deem that your creation is worthy to be preserved, or will the fire that tries every man’s works⁴ consume that which you have created, and with it your own identity? This is known as the death of the soul, the “second death” that is referred to in your Book of Revelation.⁵

At the end of every age there is a harvest of souls. It is time for a number of you to return to God in the ritual of the ascension. It is time for many of you to be elevated to the ranks of world teachers. Service to humanity is your calling; yet, by the nature of circumstances, your training has been wanting. Your preparation is therefore wanting.

I come, then, with a dispensation of mercy extended to those who know that the calling of the Law within the heart, within the very rhythm of the heartbeat of God, is service to life in the way of the ancient wisdom. If you will apply to me in earnest, if you desire to pursue the teachings of the Law and of the masters through our university, the Ascended Masters’ University,* then in answer to your application I will personally go before the Lords of Karma to sponsor you, if the record shows that your energies and life are also in dedication to that service. And I will see that a dispensation of the necessary energies will flow to you that you might fulfill a course in the preparation of your consciousness to represent hierarchy in this age as a minister on behalf of the ascended masters.

Angels of mercy who accompany me are filling this room with the presence of the angelic consciousness. By the unguent of mercy which is poured upon you (only if by your free will you would receive it), you will have a certain softening of the energies of hardness, a certain transmutation taking place whereby for a certain period in the twenty-four-hour cycle which follows, either while you are waking or while you are asleep, you will have the memory of inner spheres, of communion with the angelic hosts, and of your soul pattern and of your destiny in this age. By the action of mercy I desire that you should glimpse the inner reality of your destiny so that you can pursue with a new fervor the calling of the LORD— so that you can transcend the rising tide of darkness which would sweep away all of the noblest efforts of men and angels and masters and elementals.

Now, as I stand before you, I release the energies of mercy’s flame for the mellowing of consciousness, for the action of rebirth, for forgiveness in preparation of the Lord’s supper.

When you say, “Hail, Mary,” you are saying, “Hail, Mother ray.” And in that consciousness, all who embody the Mother flame who are part of the hosts of heaven increase and intensify the light of the feminine ray within your heart. I also attend the morning rosary⁶ to increase the vigil of mercy upon the planet. And I am grateful for receptive hearts in the West who know the fires of mercy circle the planet round, weaving the holy garment of the LORD, the seamless garment that will be worn not only by the individual in the hour of victory, but that will be worn as a swaddling garment by the planet as a whole.

I AM the wholeness of the Mother flame within you, and I bid you a fond adieu.
