The Quality of Mercy for the Regeneration of the Youth of the World
“You Can Succeed in Becoming All That You Really Are”
Most gracious listeners of the holy Word of God, I, Kuan Yin, salute the flame of mercy blazing within your own heart’s altar. There it is not strained but only in outer manifestation, where there is the strain of the outer mind as it struggles to conform to the qualities of Deity; and in the strain and the struggle it says, “I cannot.” But the flame within the heart says, “You can, you can, you can succeed in becoming all that you really are!”
Beloved ones, the determination to be able—to want to respond to the Christ within—is the beginning of wisdom. It is the beginning of your victory. Determination to accept the mercy of God, to reunite with your source, to dip into the pool of the resource of mercy’s own flame—that is the beginning of wisdom.
As the angels of my band wing their way into your midst bringing the fragrance of mercy, of joy, of mirth, of laughter of the angels—for their freedom truly is in the mercy flame as is your own—they come with a special gift of my love, the perfume of the rose of my own heart, its petals saturated with the quality of mercy.
Have you thought upon the concept of forgiveness of self? Do you know the need of each one to be able to come before the altar of God and say, “Father, I forgive myself because I know that you do forgive me.” The great mercy flame is freedom from condemnation, freedom from rivalry, from jealousy, freedom from all abrogations of the law of your being, beloved ones.
How important it is to have that diamond-shining mind of God that can respond to the quality of mercy, to the tenderness of that flame that can give you the victory—that can put you on the path of overcoming and enable you to rise as Christ of old.
The quality of mercy is indeed not strained, but how men do strain in their efforts to achieve something (they know not what), some nebulous concept, and they effect all manner of attempts to do so using the ruses and the disguises of the world to effect the change that is never wrought in the inner man but only outwardly and only temporally in this world of form.
Once again the soul stands naked; as it came, so it leaves. And in many cases, individuals achieve very little, in the lifetime that they are given, in the upward course to their divinity.
I come, then, with the wisdom of the mercy flame to admonish you this day not to be among those who waste their inheritance, who waste their life’s energy, who waste their divine resources. For the flame of God within you is indeed able to bear you up as on wings of glory, wings of mercy, to give you each day the divine inspiration as to how to apply this balm of Gilead to yourself, this unguent of truth to your fellowmen, to keep the way of the Tree of Life1 within you and to see that the dividing of the way is between truth and error—always choosing the right, always choosing the best, always choosing the highest and then dispensing it as the breaking of the bread and the passing of the cup of the wine of consecration and of communion amongst those hungry hearts and hands who extend themselves, reaching out for the Christ and receiving your hand, your blessing, your assistance as the representative of God and of the quality of mercy.
Do you realize that the thought of hopelessness, the thought of sin, the feeling that one cannot come to grips with life because one has been engaged in sin for too long is what makes many among mankind go further and further and further away from the mean line of truth—from the Middle Way? For they feel, if they cannot receive the grace of the Christ, that they might as well continue in their sordid manifestations.
Much of the hopelessness of which I speak has come to the youth of the world, those who have engaged in the use of psychedelic drugs of all kinds. These, then, having come to their senses after their use, feel a great inrush of guilt, of depression and as though they were shipwrecked. And indeed many of them, having taken drugs over a prolonged period, find that within the very brain cells there has been such damage done that without the use of the resurrection fire and the violet flame they cannot restore within themselves those sacred cells which are the connection between the physical octave and the spiritual octaves of light.
Indeed, a mighty price is paid by those who would take heaven by storm, beloved ones—a mighty price indeed, even the last farthing. For with each trip into the astral realms, where they find a sort of ecstasy in which they revel, they must pay with the deterioration of a portion of their own brain substance. This is not noticeable to them at first because it does not affect the outer consciousness, the mental body. It affects the inner tie, the manifestation of the spiritual cells of being within the brain that God himself has planted there in order to preserve the tie between the lower and the higher octaves in each individual son of God. And so the dangers are not everywhere apparent.
But, alas, when the day comes that the living is spent, that all is spent, individuals do find that they of their own selves, of their own momentum, cannot find God and they find that they are wholly dependent upon some outer form, upon this addiction, upon this entrapment of the psychic forces. And then it is too late, unless they come into the knowledge, the sacred use of the sacred fire.
O beloved ones, what a blessing, then, is the quality of mercy, that after having abused themselves and their bodies and even the Christ within them—having crucified that Christ in the use of these drugs and the violent means that they pursue—they can then come to the feet of their own divinity and say, “O LORD, help me! O LORD, renew me! Transfigure my mind and my being by the power of your overcoming victory!”
And then the Presence pours out a cup of mercy that is not strained, that is overflowing with Christ-victory. And the rejuvenation, the regeneration, begins; and if the individual is faithful to the high calling, he can rebuild those cells, the damaged substance within his brain. He can remove the traces of nicotine and the records that have been left there, and he can once again return to the high calling of the son of God.2
Beloved ones, those who have pursued these methods, who are bereft of this understanding and this teaching, find that they do not have a way that leads them to the permanent victory without the knowledge of the Holy Spirit and the sacred fire. And therefore, these who are left without the fullness of the consciousness that was bequeathed to them by God must wait sometimes several embodiments before they can regain the pattern of perfection, and this is also true of those who delve into psychic manifestations. By the power of the quality of mercy I point out to you this day the dangers of these byways which lead not to divinity but to the very depths of the astral horror.
O beloved ones, such traps have been laid for the youth of the world. We call upon all of the sisters and brothers of mercy embodied upon earth, and to those who would espouse our cause this day, to make your calls for the youth of the world—and by your calls for them, you shall make your own calling and election sure.3 For in the victory of the many there is the victory of the one, and in the overcoming by the many you will find your own victory, beloved ones.
Do you see how the quality of mercy blesses one and blesses all and how there can be no blessing to the individual without the blessing of the entire planetary body, for all are raised and all continue to rise by the power of that mercy flame? It is the wings on your heels and the wings of the angels, beloved ones. And you are able to soar far above astral heights, far above the mental and even the etheric plane into the ascended masters’ octave simply by the power of the mighty impetus of the flame of victory and mercy.
I am holding it for you, beloved ones, and I have pledged to hold it for the evolutions of this planet until every last man, woman and child upon earth has ascended into the light. This is the vow that is taken by the bodhisattvas, beloved ones—the vow to stand with humanity—and it is a sacred calling, and none of us who have taken that calling would ever turn back.
For we are dedicated and we are one with the flame upon the altar of every individual heart upon this planet. And we are so much a part of each individual man, woman and child that we could no more forsake them or go on to higher octaves than we could forsake our own identity! For we are a part of the white-fire core of God that knows the divine identity and the Presence of God in each and every living soul. And we feel so much a part of you, beloved ones, that we pulsate to the pulsation of your own heartbeat which is one with the rhythm of the spheres and the mighty heartbeat of God himself.
The music of the spheres and your own divine keynote is known to us; and when you stray from the path of mercy, from the way of the Christ, it is also an infliction upon our own body and we are partially crucified by the manifestation of the depredations of mankind. This is not in the sense that we are pulled down but that we have the sensitivity of the Christ, the sensitivity of the universal Logos; and, being one with all life, we are aware of all life in its manifestations from the highest to the lowest.
This is part of the bodhisattva ideal, which is a part of those who are standing with humanity—and there are quite a number upon this planet, although few compared to those who go their own way of riotous living. It is a very high and holy order, and I suggest that you think long and hard about this calling before you respond and say, “I will do the same.”
For when aeons pass and men are not moved by the flame that you hold, remember that you might wish you had chosen another [easier or more gratifying] way. As the centuries pass —the thousands of years and the cycles—and the same individuals whom you have nourished by the power of your heart flame are involved in the same involvements in the world, you find that you cry out to God and say, “O LORD, how long! How long will this wayward generation be in coming to the knowledge of the divinity and the love of the sacred fire that we have held for so long?”
But, beloved ones, all time is relative, and even in the realms of infinity, the passing of time, the passing of the sojourn in this unreal sphere, is as the twinkling of an eye. And we know that the last trump shall sound and that every man [manifestation of God] shall have his victory.4 And we know that we shall be there and we shall stand and we shall pour forth the hosannas and the praises as each son of God comes home, home to rest and home to higher service and higher calling.
How, then, can you, as you are in the spiral of your own circumstance, find the next rung of the ladder, find the next way? Beloved ones, in service—in service is the key to your divinity: service that is total surrender to the holy cause, total surrender involving the dispensing of the mercy flame to all life.
As you go forth each day to make your invocations for the youth of the world and for the masses that are teeming upon this planetary body, realize that your overcoming victory is manifesting. Even if you cannot see immediate changes within yourself, each twenty-four-hour cycle, as the flame is renewed and requalified, there is a rising tide of light that is taking you higher and higher toward your ascension—and the victory is indeed a daily one, as you have been told by these messengers.
Each day you will mark the victory as a notch in the belt. And that divine belt is a mighty blue belt that is focused for you by the Great Divine Director, and you may invoke that belt to keep you free from all astral projections and the mass consciousness that enters through the solar plexus. The mighty blue belt has a band which hangs from your waist to your knees and gives the mighty protection of the blue-lightning ray. If you can visualize that blue lightning around your waist and that mighty drape that descends to give you the qualification of the blue-lightning ray, you will have another key in your overcoming victory.
There are many keys, beloved ones, many which have been given in our dictations and in our writings. If you will study them and heed them and apply them each day, you will find that the power of mercy that comes forth from my ray will enfold you in greater and greater dimensions because as you have been faithful over a few things, you will be made ruler over many.5 And this again by the power of the mercy flame.
There is none worthy to receive the gifts of God except your own Holy Christ Self, your own Christ-identity. The outer consciousness in the state of becoming has not been given the scepter of authority as yet, and so that mercy flame dispensed by your own Holy Christ Self is the arbiter of your own destiny, the arbiter of your own karma and its dispensation in your own world. It is given to you as you can and are able to handle it, to take it, to come to grips with all preceding manifestations, and to have the victory over each lesser as well as each large battle that is to be won.
I say, then, to you this day, in honor of the International Resource Conference convoked by Saint Germain, by the entire Spirit of the Great White Brotherhood and the Darjeeling Council, that this resource conference and the momentum which is begun here shall be continued each year to come. And these resource conferences shall be an annual event that shall invoke in the hearts of all mankind—as greater and greater numbers assemble to hear the truth of the Word—the knowledge of the Source. These international conferences are designed to bring out the potential of your own divine identity and the mighty rainbow with a pot of gold at the end of it, giving you all of the abundance that you require to go forth to do the will of God upon earth.
And we are determined and the entire hierarchy is certain that these conferences shall gain the momentum of a mighty spiral of light that shall ultimately result in the victory of every man, woman and child upon this planet because each individual shall know and feel the supremacy of his own individualized God Presence. And then that source will open and nothing will be able to hold back the flood tides of heaven, as the outpouring of the mighty light rays descends to enfold that individual and all whom he contacts with the overcoming victory of light.
And so this shall be the promise to all nations and to all peoples that in these conferences the ascended masters are pledged to give their light and their love and their outpouring. And if the students are faithful in their support from this octave, you will see mighty changes worked in the world of form. The conferences may be held in different cities around the world as so many of your conventions are held in various cities upon the globe. And you will find that you will be led to travel to many parts of the globe that you did not dream that you would be in to carry the flame of mercy and to carry the focus of light.
And as the century passes, each year, each decade there will be another city that will be graced by the attending angels and those who come with Saint Germain and his legions to make of these resource conferences the mightiest outpouring of light that has ever been known upon this planetary body. And I tell you that every ascended being serving this planet has taken the vow to make these conferences the highest gift and offering that has been given, and it is only a matter of acceptance of this gift on the part of the students that will bring it into outer manifestation for the entire world.
As spokesman, then, for the hierarchy and as a representative of the Karmic Board, in the name of the Goddess of Liberty I say to you: Let liberty be expanded within your hearts! Let the flame of mercy, of divine opportunity, of vision, and of balance be within you! And may you carry the torch as Keepers of the Flame, going forth to every land, to every nation, to every home and hamlet, to every family, carrying that torch, extending the right arm of freedom and of power and saying, Take, eat, this is my body which was broken for you6—the body of the Christ, broken into the many fragments of light, each one measured, each fragment capable of assimilation in the body politic of the world and in the body of each individual.
Beloved ones, the hours are short,7 the calling is high, the election must be made sure, and each one of you can do this. In this hour of discovery, in this hour of discovering the light way, you can stand with us and with the hierarchy of light. We are pledged, then, to give you our momentum. Will you pledge, then, to receive it? Will you take this that I am offering this day? Will you stand in honor of the sacred fire within you?
I, Kuan Yin, am very determined this day and serious as I bring to you the gift of my heart. I am determined that it shall not be spilled upon the earth, and we have seen to it that those of you who have been called to come to this conference have been limited to those who can accept the quality of mercy, who can accept the high calling. And therefore be not concerned over numbers, for the hierarchy cannot dispense to the masses these higher gifts and inner secrets of the Law which are given to the elect and to those who have chosen to make their election sure.
Therefore, I take from my heart an ember of fire which I extend to you—a ray of hope and a ray of the mercy flame. Extend your right hand and receive it from me this day, beloved ones, and take it. Take it to your heart and feel it there glowing—lighting the fire within you with the flame of mercy as you have never felt it before. Saint Germain, beloved Portia, and the ruler of the violet planet stand with me this day with their momentum of violet flame. If you will pledge yourself to their momentum and invoke it daily, you will find a greater and greater outpouring of the violet fire descending into your world, and you will become dispensers of mercy.
Do you accept that challenge and that title—a dispenser of mercy? Do you realize how much it is needed, how it can free the earth? If you will go forward and give your decrees to the mercy flame, I assure you that I will be there to dispense, by the power of my right arm, that quality of forgiveness to the earth.
Go forth, then, sons and daughters of mercy, in the challenge of my flame, in the challenge of your own God flame, in the challenge of your own mighty I AM Presence, and realize the all-power of God within you. All power in heaven and earth is indeed given unto you this day8—unto the Holy Christ Self. If you will accept it, you will know the beginning of wisdom that is the beginning of the mercy ray, and you will know something of the service that I have given to this planet for millions of years.
I beckon you onward and I ask you to join me in that service. For servants are needed, and those who are determined to qualify the mercy flame to all life will find that the gifts of heaven will never be withheld from them. And the storing up of that grace of ministration in their own causal body of light will give them the momentum of their own ascension.
As you give, so shall it be unto you. Overflowing and in divine measure, the affluence of the gift shall return to you. I, Kuan Yin, salute you by the power of the sacred fire and I bid you good afternoon.

This dictation by Kuan Yin was delivered by the Messenger of the Great White Brotherhood Elizabeth Clare Prophet on July 21, 1968, at the International Resource Conference held in San Francisco, California. This conference was held July 20-21 in San Francisco and July 26-28 in Los Angeles to initiate the cycle of mankind’s concern with his ecology and with the source of energy. [N.B.
