Then Jesus said unto them, yet a little while is the light with you. Walk while ye have the light, lest darkness come upon you. For he that walketh in darkness knoweth not whither he goeth. While ye have light, believe in the light, that ye may be the children of light.
John 12:34-36
In the final judgment, we must stand before the Court of the Sacred Fire to make a determination about all that has ever gone before in all of our previous incarnations. And the question will be: Have I served the Light or have I served the Darkness? Exactly when that moment comes none of us know, but the masters desire that you be prepared.
They have asked me to prepare you for that hour because the time is coming to the planet of this trial and of the test by fire. We have the light now, we have the contact with hierarchy, we have the dictations, we have the opportunity to assemble. The earth is still in the stage of having seasons, days and nights, and we are not in periods of cataclysm. So we have the opportunity to invoke the light.
Jesus is talking about this because there is a countdown of days that comes to the hour of the dark night of the Spirit. This is the period that comes to every initiate on the Path when all of the momentum of the light you have invoked and all of your contact with God must stay you for the moment when you are completely cut off from hierarchy and from God. It is the final test before the crucifixion to see if you can sustain your life, your faith and your good works without the constant affirmation of your God Presence and the ascended hosts.
This moment of being cut off was experienced by Jesus, and he expressed it on the cross when he said, “My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me?”1 It is the experience when suddenly man feels utterly and entirely alone.
Some metaphysicians have tried to claim that Jesus never said this on the cross. He certainly did say it, and there is no question about it, because it was part of the initiation of the crucifixion, which many do not understand. People have tried to throw away the crucifixion. They say that it is something we should not be bothered with, because we are not amplifying death, and that Jesus was only on the cross a few hours. He died for us, they say, and so we don’t have to go through the crucifixion. Many do not understand that Jesus was the great example, showing us publicly all the initiations that we must pass through.
So we must realize that this is something which is a glorious privilege. We would never want to bypass it. Nor would the hierarchy or God himself wish to deprive us of the crucifixion, because it is that supreme moment when we overcome death. We see the unreality of death with the light we have invoked. We see that death is swallowed up in victory. I would never have wanted anyone to have taken from me the experience of keeping the vigil at the cross that I kept with Mark when he was in the hospital so that I could have the opportunity of proving with him that death is not real.
Mark in His Glory
Even while Mark was still alive, I saw him appear over his body in his magnificent robe of white. Because I had passed the test of the ten and had the inner sight, when I beheld Mark standing there in his glory I had the opportunity to see before me simultaneously all the evidence on the physical level of human death and all the evidence of immortal life. Only twenty minutes after he passed on, he made his ascension.
Mark had been given that opportunity many years ago, but he asked the masters to let him stay here until he could train someone to carry on his work. At the very hour that he was asking this of the masters, I was calling to them to be shown how I could serve them. And so we were brought together and he began to train me. While he stayed and trained me and worked with our staff and with thousands of people around the world, he continued to balance his karma, bringing it up to 75 percent.
Whether or not one should take the ascension is always made in consultation with one’s twin flame. And so when this came up with Mark, the decision was made in deliberation with the Karmic Board and my Christ consciousness. I said immediately that he must go on and make his ascension, because there was no point for Mark to reembody and to have to go through another trial of being in this world when he was so persecuted here. I also realized that he could do a much greater job for the earth from the ascended state. And so the decision was quickly made, and Mark, of course, had been preparing for his ascension.
I have felt that time and space ended for me on that occasion, as they had for Mark, and that I have walked in eternity since then. I have no consciousness of time passing or of being on earth, except as a very small portion of me steering this body around so that I can tell you these things and tell mankind of these glorious concepts so that they can prepare to go on.
Jesus said, “Walk while ye have the light, lest darkness come upon you.” We have this light now. We have this opportunity to walk in eternity with Mark. We have the opportunity to be saturated with his momentum and his consciousness, just by our call, just by saying: “Beloved Lanello, blaze through me and fuse me with light! Walk through me. Be my heart, my head and hand.” Just by saying this, you suddenly have the rushing of his consciousness around your entire form, and you can take his mantle and command the waters of the human consciousness to go down.
In order to save this planet and preserve it for its resurrection, there have to be people who are willing to do this. I can do a great deal, because one with God is a majority. But if you multiply this momentum, by putting on the mantle, taking what I have received from Mark as I pass the torch to you, you can be the electrode that preserves harmony no matter what happens—whether we have civil strife or revolutions, no matter what we have in America in the coming years. You can be the pillar of fire that defies those things, because that is how powerful the light is.
When the day came for Mark’s cremation, the light that was focused in his body was as brilliant as the sun in the heavens. His entire body was on fire on the inner. And I realized that Mark was anchoring the resurrection flame for America. At the time that he left, the Brotherhood felt that the collapse of America was imminent. He ascended because it was the only way he could do the work he had to do.
After our ceremonies at the crematorium, I accompanied Mark’s body to the place where the cremation was done. And just when I thought that this was going to be difficult for me, Mark appeared overhead in his handsome white suit, all dressed up for the occasion. I saw him on the etheric plane smiling at me, and I said to myself that it is so ridiculous for me to even consider that anything else is going on. And it was truly a victorious occasion.
I also saw Mark sitting in that beautiful plush sapphire blue velvet chair, all carved in gold. He was sitting there like I have seen him on the platform, twiddling his fingers, waiting for this thing to get over with. Next to him was another blue chair of velvet and these two chairs were attached. So there were three arms for the two chairs, like in a movie theater, and the seat next to him was empty. I realized that not only was he waiting for the ceremony to be over, but he was waiting for me to hurry up and get up there with him. I saw that seat waiting for me, and from then on I felt that everything I did was to serve, to anchor in this world our joint causal bodies, so that I could also go on in the ritual of the ascension and be with him.
America Is at the Hour of the Crucifixion
Mark had a great love for this country as the crucible for the Christ consciousness. One of the last things he conveyed to me was that verse about the seed: “Except a corn of wheat fall into the ground and die, it abideth alone. But if it die, it bringeth forth much fruit.” And he said that the corn of wheat is also America. Then he said, “Unless America goes through this crucifixion, the resurrection cannot come forth.” America is going to go through this crucifixion. The old order and the old establishment is the corn of wheat that must fall so that the new age, the golden age, can rise from the ashes and the phoenix bird can rise and become the consciousness of the Christ. And not only is America at the hour of the crucifixion, but the entire planetary body. And it is because we have chosen to hold the Mother flame for the planet in the hour of the crucifixion that the planet will make it, that it can pass through this crucifixion and be resurrected on a mass scale, just as Jesus individually was resurrected.
This is an alchemical period. But I am convinced that if there are enough lightbearers like you and if every one of you is staunch and determined for the light, the transition of America can be as gentle and tender as the transition that I beheld of Mark.
The Dark Night of the Spirit
Part of the initiation of the crucifixion is bearing the momentum of planetary darkness. This is the darkness that Jesus had to bear which surrounded the cross while he was totally cut off from his Presence, relying solely on the memory of what it was like to feel his Presence and to be with God. There comes a time when we all have to stand on our own light, what we have invoked. That is all we have and we are given no more. We have to go by that momentum until the hour of the dark night of the Spirit and the crucifixion has passed. And on the basis of the light we have gleaned, we see the unreality of death.
This initiation takes place for many people, after they pass on, at the etheric temple at Luxor in Egypt. It is also given in one of the chambers of the Great Pyramid, which is used at the etheric level for this test of laying down the body to see if man is attached to his body or if he knows that he is real in God. Just believing it is not enough. For in the hour of the dark night, all the momentums of the subconsciousness, which we call the electronic belt, rise up to challenge the light within man.
This is the beast that ascends out of the bottomless pit to challenge the Christ consciousness that bears witness to the truth. And that beast, which is our own human creation from all of our past embodiments, has to be slain by the two-edged sword, the power of the spoken Word that comes forth from the throat chakra. It comes forth to challenge all misqualified energy in all planes of one’s consciousness.
This combined momentum of energy is called the dweller-on-the-threshold. We all have to meet that dweller sooner or later, and we have to slay the beast. This is why some of the saints, like Saint George, are pictured as slaying the dragon. It is his own dweller-on-the-threshold, but it is more than his own. It is also the dweller-on-the-threshold of the entire planetary body.
The Victory of Passing the Test of the Ten
The saints in their many embodiments have passed this test, but some have volunteered to reembody so that they could focus this test for the planetary body. Some of you may have passed it, but not a lot of you. Many centuries ago, Mark went through the test of the crucifixion and he went through it a number of times. But each time, he volunteered to come back to culminate the Piscean age and to stand at that point in time when the entire planet would have to pass the test of the ten. That hour came, and it was exactly the cosmic hour for him to manifest the victory.
So the archetypal pattern of the victory of the ten is right in the forcefield of this place, this city and this earth. And this means that anyone who is attuned or desirous of doing the same can walk right into this pattern. It is right here, focused through his consciousness.
This is why the doors to heaven are wide open right now—for you, for this group of people—because you are the ones who have the knowledge of the Law and can apply it to manifest the victory. No consideration of an earthly or human nature is worth bypassing this opportunity. It is so great, and Mark has made it easier for us to walk right through.
Therefore, walk. Walk right through. Walk while you have the light. Walk right through the wide-open doors to heaven.
